New Traditions

JOIN OUR CAST AND CREATIVE TEAM - NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!

Arts and Athletics Club is embarking on a very special project: New Traditions.

In partnership with The Main Line Chinese Culture Center, Arts and Athletics Club wrote New Traditions, a play that focuses on these major things:

  • Showcase Chinese Culture and compare to American Culture

  • Speak Out Against Asian Hate

  • Showcase the importance of having Asian history taught in school

  • Create a play with Asian Lead characters

  • Share stories and traditions from Chinese Culture

Story: Grace, a Chinese-American junior, is starting to drift away from her best friend Demi. While Demi is spending the year having fun with friends, Demi is focusing on her upcoming graduation. Grace and Demi see an opportunity to reconnect by joining each other's favorite activities, but are the difference's in Grace and Demi's lifestyles too much to overcome?

New Traditions is a heartwarming story about the power of family and friendship, the importance of culture, and the strength we have inside of us.

Schedule:

Please see the schedule for the production here.
Note: Participants will not be at every rehearsal.

  • We will ask all participants to let us know your availability for our schedule.

  • You will be asked to come to a larger amount of rehearsals if you have a larger role. Smaller roles will have less rehearsals.

  • All cast will be asked to attend the Tech rehearsals and the performance.

  • Want to be a part of the show, but not a lot of time? Talk to us and we can see how we can make it work!
